Sewing Progress

I spent a great day yesterday with the Ladies of Oast Quilters in Canterbury. This a large group and very active. They always have so much going on and are led with such energy by Belinda and her friends. If you are in this part of Kent it is always worth seeing what they have going on in their monthly meetings. And then if you get the chance go to one of the workshops. This is the second very warm welcome I have received from them! We worked on Spools blocks, as you can see. That is between coffee and biscuits, a lovely lunch ( I was catered for by Stephanie- Thanks again!) and then great cake (Thanks Tracy!) and tea in the afternoon. We needed all this to help fuel the masses of stitching that went on!

In the meantime, here are some things I have been playing with. These are the 'negative ' blocks from the Water Wheels quilt top I made before Christmas:

And these are my Barbara Brackman Blocks. Of the twenty so far I just have one more to catch up on:

And this is my Scrappy Trip quilt. I am trying not to have this over take everything else I am meant to be doing so am aiming for two blocks a day. So far I am a bit behind, but I think it's slowly but surely for me on this one:

Hope no one is too adversely effected by the weather at the minute? After the Dog Walk in the tiny amount of snow that we have had I will be back in the cosy with some stitching!

Love this post!  The variety of spool blocks are wonderful.  I really like the colors you used for Barbara Brackman's quilt, and your scrappy trip is so refreshing! Well done!

Thank you again for such a lovely workshop.  It was super to see you again! Everyone had a fantastic time  and I can't remember a time when we were so productive!  What an amazing start to 2013!   I love all the other projects you have on the go!

Lovely blocks. I started one of these a couple of years ago. I think I best go and fish it out the ufo box. I love the fabrics you have used. Mine has a lot of uglies but it will keep us warm. Will get cracking on it this evening.
